Hello November

Arts & Crafts
I finished a hat in my crochet class. The $90 I dropped on the class for myself was money well spent. After learning a few basic stitches, I pretty much know how to crochet. I finished a hat with the teacher's help on Sunday. Now I have the confidence to make more. Maybe I'll even graduate to something bigger. Pictures coming soon.

Work
I've finally worked out a system for this job. I don't know that I can deal with the hours. The longer day is brutal. But since I have my own office, while I work, I listen to radio shows online. Especially those about personal finance. They really keep me going. I've heard some truly inspiring stories and perhaps this job is worth more than just the cash I'm taking home.

Auto
My "check engine" light came on. I took it to a local branch of a chain I trust. They declined to repair it and sent me to the dealer instead, explaining the problem had to do with my exhaust. Well, I dilly dallied because I figured it wasn't that bad a problem. It would definitely have to be fixed before I do my inspection this month. But then suddenly, the "check engine" light went off again. Why? The bulb is working fine.

Writing
I can't keep up! All of a sudden there are a bunch of writing-related things on my plate. I need to practice the word "no". Other than that I'm trying to do Nanowrimo this year. Again. Last night I just got crazy and wrote 1700 words. I skipped the first night so I have some catching up to do. It just seemed to flow. I cheated. I repeated. I reiterated. I used fillers. But I reasoned that if I can type upwards of 70 wpm, then it shouldn't take me more than an hour to write a bunch of crap! And so I did!
What's new with you?

  2. I have been over to your blog in years. I stopped blogging in 2009.

    Nice to see you learned how to crochet. I learned initially off Youtube in 2008. I then started reading magazines and I have made about 4 bedsized throws, a poncho and several more things. I have tons of yarn from old projects and unfinished. I plan to use the hibernation time of fall/winter to complete some unfinished things.

  3. @Mrs. Pancakes,
    I don't think I would get half the work done if I had to share. I love to chit chat!

    @Shai
