Thankful Thursday-Christmas 2011

  • I'm thankful I am working (even temporarily) for a company that can show appreciation even in little ways.

  • I'm thankful that even though the company will be shut down next week, our supervisor will allow us to come in for two days (nobody doesn't need extra cash!)

  • I'm thankful to be working at all. Health, strength, sound mind, transportation, and an available position, all combined, allow me to earn my daily bread and even give presents this year!

  • I'm thankful this season to be able to spend time with my loved ones. Sadly, too many people cannot say the same. Although they irk me sometimes, my family is so precious to me and I love, want, and need them.

  • I'm thankful I have learned a new skill. . . crocheting! I have only completed a few small projects so far, but I think birthdays and holidays will be a little warmer in the coming months and years.

  • I'm thankful my former congregation has been able to burn their mortgage. Although I no longer worship there, it is one of my church homes and I rejoice with them (btw, the trick is not to buy more church than you can afford!)

  • Finally, I'm thankful to be alive. Life has its ups and downs but each new day is another chance for me to try to make a positive impact somewhere, somehow.

Be well and happy holidays.
